I was married and we had a similar arrangement. Except when it was my weekend off, she would jet off early to "get some milk" then " I stopped by moms and got sucked into a movie". Then when I tried to catch the afternoon tide there would me another " emergency" an disappear until night!
When I raised my grandson from age 6 months to 7 years. I had more kids at my house over the weekend....than any Somolia daycare centers combined...

Actually, this should be clarified, not assumed. Many dads are physically present but the mom is still on duty taking care of the kids...and him! If she was guaranteed a few hours to herself, that could make a big difference in family dynamics. Not every woman wants to go clubbing with her friends. Maybe she needs the peace of getting a manicure and pedicure uninterrupted or having a nice lunch without making sure a child eats first. It can make all the difference in the world to the mom's attitude and energy level. Take it from an older woman. Hindsight is 20/20.馃挄
