hes going to attach a rope to it, my guess its leaning back too far to notch it for a directional fall, so the rope is to get it to fall towards the roper, and not backwards into the tree line, that way they can just cut it on the ground, if it falls back into the tree line it will be a lot more dangerous to cut it down to the ground, either that, or hes going to climb and cut sections, and use the rope to lower the sections down, seen it done both ways, just sayin,
