This is similar to a technique we used in Texas & Oklahoma to flush Rattlesnakes from their den, but instead of a smoke bomb a length of garden hose would be inserted into the opening where a den was believed to be and then a few ounces of gasoline would then be poured into the hose and blown inside, causing the snakes to exit due to the fumes where they would then be captured. Some people believe this to be cruel, but say this after one of your Pets, or Worse yet one of your Children has been bitten while playing in your back yard. 😂 🤔

My pup used to play with the neighbor's pup. We lived in the country and they had lots of room to run around. One day my neighbor came over to ask me to stop my dog from digging in his yard. I told him I was sorry and I'd work on stopping my fur baby from digging. One day Toby, the neighbor's dog and Cinnamon, my dog, were taking turns flipping something black. I thought it was a glove. Nope, it was a mole. Seems Cinnamon would dig the hole and Toby would go down into the hole and pull the mole out. When the neighbor was told why Cinnamon was digging in his yard his response was hilarious. He asked how much I would be charging for mole removal. Seems he had been trying for years to get rid of the moles with no success. Then he said to let those pups keep digging. Between Toby and Cinnamon that Summer 9 moles met the end of the line.
I did that once, and the next thing I know my wife came running out yelling the house eas full of smoke

after laying sod, the next day I noticed it was separated and curled at the seams, I pulled it back, the roots were gone and there were trenches under it. I found the main hole and poured 2 bottles of castor oil in and flushed it with water, the gophers came out the hole . and died under the neighbor's grass.
They do make a stick that looks like TNT you light it & shove it in a mole hole packing dirt the mole pushed up to keep smoke in to travel under the earth poisoning them.
I've watched paint dry with more going on.

Someone mentioned getting rid of groundhogs. I did the recommended things: vinegar on cloth into their hole, filling up their holes with gravel...and I didn't see them for a while...but, as Spring sprang, mother emerged with 2 babies...all munching on tender green grass. I left them alone then but saw a baby in the neighbors yard...the last time I saw any of them.

I put out some smoke bombs. That were supposed to release carbon monoxide in the runs. I went out a day or two later and they were on top of the runs. Reminded me of a Bugs Bunny cartoon. And yes I lite them. 💭🤣
