I worked with a roofer/rigger who take 350lb 12ft 25ft vapor barrier fold it just so. Put it on his 6Ft 7in shoulder like it was a duffle bag and walk it up a 24 foot ladder and gently place it in on the roof like he was laying a new born baby down for a nap. He had been doing work like that since he was 13 years old he was 67 at that time in life. Still in awe of that man

Yeah, I used to throw 100 pound cylinder over my shoulders, full of propane, gas and go up a 40 foot ladder to a rooftop so I could torch down the membrane for the roof! But what’s your witnessing is a big boy Lincoln log set! when it’s finished, it will not be beautiful but it will be strong and the fireplace within will be magnificent

I walked thing like this the same 2ay in my youth. I was a crane operator working in a ship yard building offshore drilling jackets and decks. I would walk a 24 inch pipe a hundred feet in the air with no safety lines while attaching slings to it and a crane hook when not in a seat. Today I realize how stupid we were not to use safety lines. I slipped off a crane deck that was only 6 feet off the ground 6 years ago and fractured my back in 3 places, I'm still paying for that slip today. My back is still messed up and its painful just to walk across the street.

dont see why everyone is complaining about not being tied off or ppe. i mean there is a good chance this is his house and hes building it on his time on his land which if thats the case he does not have to abide by anyones safety rules but his own. Besides that log has been planed flat on top and bottom so he has at least a foot of flat solid wood to stand on its practically a sidewalk.
