I had a roommate that got drunk and was showing off his new Glock. He dropped the magazine, then started pointing it at everyone. I said, "dude! Stop! There's a..." BOOM! I woke up surrounded by EMTs. The bullet hit me under my left eye and exited by my right ear. I had three surgeries to fix my face and sinuses, but I can still see. I just have gnarly scars, problems breathing through my nose, and some hearing loss and tinnitus. All-in-all, that's the best case scenario. He pled to misdemeanor criminal negligence and got 45 days of jail time and 500 hours community service. Never expect someone to know gun safety.
All of my boys took hunter safety classes , which taught them gun safety... Kids are going to mess with guns so they should know how they work and why they're not toys.

Anytime I show someone one of my weapon's I always clear the chamber and remove the mag beforehanding it to them, and I leave the slide open

I teach my daughters the same basic principles as a father and a protector of them they should know how to defend themselves against their attackers if I’m not around like at work.

This is the type of program that should be in every middle elementary, middle and high school.. three opportunities to instill safety and common sense with gun handling and I guarantee we would not have as much going on in these streets as we do today.. because these kids today look at a gun like a video game. that's the mindset we have to break
