When my older son was not quite 3 years old, he got away from me in a "Big Box" grocery. While breathlessly searching for him, I heard a page asking anyone missing a toddler to come to the Security Desk. I arrived at the desk to find him sitting on the counter, surrounded by several smiling staff members, a huge cookie in one hand and an ice cream cone in the other. As I walked up, my son said, to the great amusement of all within earshot, "See? I told you I wasn't lost, but my mommy was."πŸ˜²πŸ˜†πŸ€”

Back in the day when I was a young puppy dog, the 60s and the 70s. All my mom would say when we went to the store is "If you ain't at the car when I get ready to leave, you can walk home." I got a whole lot of exercise back in those years.

I lost my mom in a Dollar General yesterday and she has a walker. I tell you when she wants to takeoff. She just takes off cracks me up. She does this every time he goes shopping.

My son never left me, he chased my ass down with the shopping cart singing the Jaws theme music trying to bump me. I would laugh so hard I would almost pee on myself.

My mother used to do this to me all the time. I’d take her for groceries or just to browse in a store, turn to look at something and she’d disappear. So I finally just stopped trying to shop with her. I spent outings with her just following her around. Worked better.

Nearly all of us can relate. When you get separated don't run all over looking for each other. Decide before shopping where to meet if you lose each other and go there and wait. Or find a central place and stay there and txt them.πŸ’•
