I had a person who out ranked me in the Marine Corps try to order me to change the station in my own private vehicle. I put her ass in the side of the road. She tried to have me charged with disobeying a lawful order. Our CO laughed her right out of his office!!! Within a year I got promoted twice while she didn't get any promotions. When I suddenly out ranked her, she was pissed. Oh, well!

Regardless of the reason, an Uber passenger has a right to respectfully request that a driver turn down or turn off the music. The driver doesn’t have to comply. The rider can leave a rating and feedback after the ride. I have made this request from drivers playing profanity laced rap music or any loud music which makes the ride uncomfortable for me. Each time the driver complied with the request. If they had not and it was safe to do so, I would have ended the ride.
