It's true. If I fell asleep watching television, I remember waking up to the National Anthem playing and the American flag blowing in the wind, afterwards test patterns would appear, then static when the station went offline altogether.

Yes, and. . . Sometimes they would play a spooky commercial because human trafficking of children was outta control! It would say... " It's 10'oClock..... DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR CHILDREN ARE !?!?! "

That's very real but it wasn't midnight it was more like 3 in the morning Sometimes even later if I can remember correctly but yeah they would all go off the air To also have to remember there was no cable networks there were only 4 or 5 channels back when I was a kid ABC NBC CBS PBS I'm pretty sure that was it I didn't watch a lot of TV though so I could be very wrong

Wasn’t it nice how simple life was back then no phones in your hand nobody getting a hold of you all the time nobody being able to trace you everybody knew they could get a job or have a job as long as they worked for it and now look where we’re at. It’s very sad. Sad here are money is paying for people to come in and shoot us and we have a convicted criminal for president.

Yes there was a time when we all went to bed at the same time and got up at the same time. It was called from sun up til sun down. And when those street lights turned on our little asses ran home cause we all stay outside until then no matter what the weather was.

Your grandmother is telling the truth. I grew up in that era. I had a choice of going to bed or stay up a little longer reading a book.

The house where I grew up had an old radio built into a fancy cabinet. It still worked. Sometimes my Dad would leave the TV off and simply listen to the radio broadcast of the day's baseball game. It reminded him of his younger days.
