Electromagnetic are amazing. USA: Let’s make a better killing machine with it. Japan, China, Europe: let’s make a faster safer transportation system with it.

It's about time that the armed services put the rail gun from theory to reality before any other country and it's going to cut the cost and we're going to be able to put that money into something else to defend us 🚀🇺🇲's from some other armaments that other countries have come up with such as China 🇨🇳as the rocket called the M61 and that's a ICBM with 60 nuclear warheads on there that in 20 minutes can hit 60 places anywhere on the planet 🌎🌍➕ the 1 ICBM Missile too boot & nothing can stop this when it is fired off

It's absolutely worthless because after 1 shot the barrel is warped

A rail gun is trash. Reloads are slow, power up is slow, not very accurate and tbh... worthless.

These rail guns are too cumbersome and most militaries don't want them. Plus the projectiles can't be steered. Waste of time and resources.

The problem with this technology hasn't been getting it to work. The problem has been the life of the barrel and power management. The US paused it's development a few years ago but private industry and other countries are still in development stages with Japan being ahead of everyone else. When it's actually deployed it won't be mounted on a tank. The system is too large. It will more than likely be on a ship.

see i got a question what if we can make something that can intercept something like the ICBM that has long vision and can lock on to it and and stop it and make less casualty🤔🤨

when then why don't they use that electro magnetic application on cars instead of digging up thousands of tons of lithium

u could use that in tube to circle in chamber to generate enough for a aircraft to fly in space👍

I talked with a guy who was my Boss when I was working on a country farm in 2009 who said that 🇺🇸 had a rail gun! And he was a retired Navy sailor!

No, the US military is not currently deploying electromagnetic railguns, as the Navy officially paused the program in 2021 due to technical hurdles like barrel wear, integration issues, and high costs, redirecting funds to hypersonic missiles and lasers. While research continues and there's interest in reviving it (even for land use), the focus shifted away from shipboard deployment. 😁

Not a simple metal slug. Spent uranium for optimal penetration to different configurations of metal. But still your looking at under $10k a round for the most bad ass versions to $500
