In the 70' s I put down a roll of plain white paper to the tree. after the kids went to bed n i put the gifs out I replaced the plain paper with one with Santa's Boot print on it

In 2003, Myself, my daughter, her young daughter, my son and my youngest sister. I wanted to give the young girl a great Christmas including a Santa. I had made a Santa suit. My sons friend in his high school wore the suit and played Santa. My grand daughter was having trouble getting to sleep excited for Santa to arrive. So trying to get the granddaughter to sleep, her mom decided to read a bedtime story. My son had gone out onto the roof with carrots and bells. He made such a racket up there. My granddaughter heard the noise and just knew it was Santa arriving. She was so excited she actually heard Santas arrival. After a few minutes, when everything was quiet, we decided to quietly go downstairs and peek to see if Santa was inside. There, in our living room by the tree, was Santa putting gifts under the tree. When he turned, He saw her and motioned for her to come in. He gave her Princess Dress.Then he motioned for her to go back upstairs.

I did something similar for my two stepchildren. I made bunny tracks that "hopped" around, leading to their Easter baskets. 🐣 Great fun!
