According to the video it is tin which melts at just under 500 degrees so no lead or mercury. The bill was too give a surface that the metal wouldn't stick to, I would suggest just using a piece of scrap paper which will do the same thing. In any case since she didn't destroy the $20 note just damaged it she can take it to any bank to trade it in fire an undamaged one.

That looks like Lead judging by the melting point. I wouldn't use that for jewelry. Thats known to cause mental issues when it was used for hats and other items around the 1800's
