Better than my experience. In 1973 I took a weeks leave from the Army. I was stationed at Ft.Lewis Washington and took a trip down to California to visit a friend in Sacramento. I was on my 1973 Kawasaki 900cc Z1 and had stopped at a gas station and filled up, about 20 miles later headed South on the freeway the bike started running rough and then just quit running. I'm in the middle of nowhere pushing the motorcycle down the side of the freeway. A CHP (California Highway Patrol) car going the opposite direction was passing by, I tried to flag him down. The CHP kept going and waved back at me. I got lucky, about 20 minutes later a guy in a pickup truck pulled over and we loaded the bike in back of his truck. This guy took me all the way to my friends apartment in Sacramento. He kept asking if I had been saved he was a guy in his late 20's long hair and did his best to convert me. I thanked him and offered to buy him some gas but he refused. Gas had water in it
