Shepherds have a built in radar that protects their family 24/7. When Beau ( our shepherds name )would go outside while my son (age 4) was playing with the neighborhood kids, I knew his watchful eye would keep all of them safe until I got outside. Any one that would step onto our lawn from the sidewalk would be warned not to come another inch into our yard... He'd patrol the perimiter of our yard until the perceived threat was well past our house. The shepherd in this knew exactly that this was a game.
