Little kids, 2 to 5 years old, have healing power for elderly people, they still have a innocence about their spirit. When I see my great grandson, I smile from the inside of my spirit to the outside of my spirit. 🌸💕🥰😆
I used to put my first child close to the door late in the afternoon while I was cooking dinner. I told her her Daddy was coming home soon. 20 years later, when all the broken promises had piled up and our marriage finally fell apart, she was still obviously her Daddy’s girl. I’ve never not loved my children’s Dad, but his destructive behaviors just had to stop. He was so able to keep it out of sight of others, most of the time, but it was destroying me. I worried every day what would happen if his drinking caused him to be in an accident: what would happen if he was injured or incarcerated, or even worse if he caused another family’s losses. I’m quite aware that, in my hopeless codependent behaviors, I tended to catastrophize consequences he might continue to avoid, but if he didn’t, what did I need to do to protect our kids.
