She never questioned it until she was in the second grade and someone asked her why she was never with her mom. When she told them I was her mom they promptly told her I was not because I was white and she was black. She was so confused. That was the day we told her she was adopted and that out of all of the babies in the world, we chose her! She turned 13 today and I would choose her all over again!!🥰

She told me that they were studying where other people come from and that skin color is sometimes determined by where they live. Ok, do far. Then I asked her so what's the problem. She said that the teacher told her that she was white ( well, OK, we are white). so what's wrong with that, I asked.
