drive time is the dot regulation of the illigality of driving for over 11 hours in a day and 60 hours in a week she drove for 11 hours and ran out of hours to drive
no engine doesn't shut off they simply pull over in the mile stretch they ran out of time in that's why you see them parked on off ramps or in random areas
You can actually go over the 11 hours, can't remember how much over, but you will definitely have to take all or part of the next day off until you are back in compliance with your hours, I'mnotquitesure howthat rule works becausei neverhad to face it, althoughif Iwas 20 minutesfrom the terminal, Ijust continuedto drive their, but that was 5 years ago before the company had all trucks hooked up to full electronic capabilities where everything was electronically logged.
I've never seen a truck that shuts down when time uns out. if that's what happened, she needs to find another job.
its why I stay in my old school truck89 Pete flat top 379
on e logs you can go to settings and pick add speakers then hit apply it will take five minutes to reboot so drive like hell if you don't make it stop before it reboots and do it again . I made it across Salt Lake city doing this.
馃樁鈥嶐煂笍馃かPaper logs let ya float those couple minutes.
this does 100% happen to trains, which is why you see them stopped in random places.
My little brother is a truck driver so I do know this. So drivers usually get 11 hours a day to drive with two 30 minute breaks. They are limited to the time and sometimes the truck will stop when the time hits. It didn鈥檛 get but I think she was worried about being the rules. Because of many drivers literally dying before the union was formed they take the rules seriously. I think they should have waking breaks more often but what do I know lol.
that sucks to be minutes from drop off and have to sit on the side of the road for 8 hours
before GPS, you just lied on your log. 馃槅馃槅
it's where you can only drive for so long in one time and you can't go over a certain speed or even drive at all when you run out of time and it doesn't kill the motor
you only have to take a 30 minute every 8 hours not 2 in 11 . if you run out of time just miles from your home terminal you can legally use personal conveyance to get to a safe haven.
She鈥檚 an idiot
Can't burn the books with satellites.
just drive where it's at the drive time things got to recognize by GPS how close you are to the drop off and allow you to do that
unplug/ turn off tablet and keep rolling lol
this truck is connected to DOT logging automatically...if that truck is not at a complete stop when your 11th hr comes up it's a DOT violation...the company i worked for had a 4 violation limit for being fired
some. companies have trucks programmed ti cut power significantly, so youre abke to get off the road when you run out of time. never heard of one shutting off
just use your 16 hour exception
I didnt know trucks did that
I don鈥檛 know 馃
I sure am glad I don't have to deal with the government "helping" me anymore. After 34 yrs I gave it up about 5 yrs ago. Best decision ever.
WTF never had it shut the truck down lol I call BS but I鈥檇 just drive it in got a violation but that鈥檚 what called keeping perfect logs
Why stop in the road, it's called safe haven you can keep going and edit it off 馃う
extension adverse driving conditions
no.you are in violation
has to less than 50 miles pt I guess new people don't know
my engine don't shut off the red warning comes on my samsera
Good thing she wasn鈥檛 on the interstate
you know they allow you to drive certain amount of miles after your ran out for just that reason look it up
so all eld drivers you have to look up yard time work time if you are in a yard yard time still running time but if you talk to the dc you might be complicated
it won't shut the truck off but you could loose that cdl if that log book doesn't match your times blah blah馃榿 i don't know i want to start today's my cdl in the near future any tips?
I would鈥檝e just drove it in !!! 馃馃憤馃徎馃憤馃徎
No the engine does not turn off some times I have drove my whole 11 hours with out taking a 30 minute break been like what happened you have to take a 30 minute break before 8 hours best to have 4 hours driven then you get all ya clock to run out that鈥檚 11 hours of Driving with a 30 minute break per day 7 days a week when you have used up your 70 hours of driving you have to take 34 hours off if you only drive 8 hours a day you can run on recaps hours and all most never have to take a day off as long as you got recap hours
That is disgusting and so sad.The corporation rotten hell freedom of speech
Supposed to go to high idle or used too. Not supposed to create a traffick hazard by total shut down.
It's like driver AA they limit how long you can drive no blowing in to a tube tho 馃槄 but that's an extremely dangerous idea just just saying cause what if your run out of time on Traxs 馃槶馃槄 sad cause you have to get out wait for person and hope they make it before the train lol馃槄馃槀
them God damn electronic logs rip them out go back to the paper logs
that dude is deff smashing n i bet he married
go to private time , start ur 10 hrs down
go on duty roll under 5 mph... 馃憤 if its really minutes away..
I have a buddy that's a trucker.if you keep it under 35 mph. you could have made it thier .
Lookin for a safe heaven no big deal
Go park. Your good
So next time pull over when you get the warning, instead of letting it shut down in the middle of the road!
Should have prepared better u kno it come in close
14 hr workday, 10 hrs of drive time, 1 30 min. break inside the first 8 hrs. the truck doesn't shut down for running over your drive time, at which time you are in violation. your dispatch has some legal wiggle room on their end, because of how freaking unsafe it is to pull over just anywhere.
the stupidest part is if you run out of drive time 6mins before destination you can't continue however you can dive 30mins back to find a stop
