How about taking YOUR VALUABLES OUT OF YOUR CAR. Besides, that won't stop them. Most are looking for weapons. I guarantee you, they'll push that trash out the way to get to the glove compartment and arm rest. I personally know that, because that's what they did to my car. I had a box of dishes, umbrellas, folding chairs, water. They didn't want none of that. Just looking for weapons that I did not have.......At least not in my car.
