You absolutely are required to hand over your license if they are investigating any infraction, including traffic.
In VA and FL you gotta sign the ticket. If you refuse, that's a misdemeanor in the 2nd degree.
Why? wtf is the point of this? Everybody wants to act this way until they need the cops… then they want them to pay their life on the line to help them. Just to turn around and disrespect them. The reason we respect the cops is because they also dedicate their lives to save other people’s. Not every cop is good. It’s impossible to ensure that. Mutual respect goes a long ways.
Driving is a privilege. When we register for our learners permit then drivers license we sign documents that specifically state, Your driving privileges can be taken away. You must abide to law enforcement. All of that said, you do have he right to be quite and inky answer the questions needed for that traffic stop. Name, date of birth. Do not give permission to search your vehicle, be respectful even if they aren't.

If you are stopped you have to show your drivers license, registration and proof of insurance. That's the law.
Clearly, there’s just a lack of communication here. Why don’t we have more cops doing videos saying this is what we want you to do? Once everybody knows how to handle the situation they’ll be a lot less stress so every situation will become diffused.

If there is reasonable cause to pull you over , you will be pulled over! If you speed, if you have a tail light that is not working.You still have to obey American laws and pull over. All that posting of immigration rights has zero to do with civil laws in this country. I would tow the vehicle, don't know of any state if you get stopped for traffic violation you don't have to show license.
I guarantee ya if law enforcement was investigating a crime involving/against one or more of their family members. They would be demanding immediate results from the city/police department, as well as wanting the community to be sympathetic & sympathize with their hurt/anger/outrage 🙄
