The fact that stormwater runoff is an extremely toxic stew of everything, oils, garbage, human and animal waste, chemicals, and everything else that coats the ground. Is much more dangerous than the pipe. You'd actually get less dangerous substances on and in your body, if you fell into a septic tank. Retired water and wastewater Operator here. You'd be surprised at how runoff actually requires more treatment to process it at the wastewater plant. Don't ever let your kids play in it please.

you ever see someone get caught in one of those pipes and how long it takes to get them out you wouldn't ever do it again. been there seen that done that ride before. never again
I would send a large floating item to see if it came all the way through and how long. But very risky
I would never let a kid of mine anywhere near that drainage pipe. Many have died that same way

Every big rain we had a 4 ft tunnel to go thru—fun !!!
used to spend hrs doing that on a local river as kids. I moved away for 20 yrs. When I moved back, took my kids there for some swimming and fishing. Well, the bridge and culverts where still there, but the the county Hiway dept caved it in. Of all the years of kids and adults that would,swim there, nobody ever got hurt. Damn Safety Nazies!
