My discharge papers said I had been treated with a drug that the nurse said the pharmacy did not have. The ER doc asked me how I was doing after the med. I told him I never got it, yet it was in my discharge papers. When I asked for an itemized bill I was charged for it. I went to billing and asked them to contact the Chief Pharmacist. I wanted to see inventory for that drug on that day. He came and was very testy, but finally checked. That particular ( controlled ) medication had not been in pharmacy inventory for over four months. Check and double check everything. Just because a doctor orders something in your chart does not mean you got the service or medication
They are only required to give you your discharge summary. It will have the reason for her visit and their recommdation for follow-up with your PCP. Your treatment, testing and results are a part of your medical records which you can get through the records department like everyone else. As a retired nurse myself, I have encountered Karens like this one who tried my patience with their ignorance of how hospitals operate. I think they handled it very well.
The hospital can't fix stupid....but we can xray it.
does she understand she can lose her job for not giving you what you asked for you asked to see your medical records they are required to give that to you
do not go to hospitals......Damn when will ya all learn? they don't help u...
I’d like to see the video of this entire interaction. She can request medical records once discharged. As a RN for 30 years I’ve never given a patient their medical records on discharge.
she literally looks like her attitude
Lawyer 🤨
not only do you have to check and recheck at a hospital, but also pharmacies. I went to CVS in Target which is a little different than the regular CVS. they go to faces where they're really good and then really bad and then nightmarish and you won't want to just leave the country and then everything seems to be getting better but then started to go downhill again. I went to pick up my Klonopin I get a 28-day supply I have I know how much I got 84 pills they changed it now so it's a lot lower. but when I picked it up it wasn't a 28-day supply it was 28 pills. they took it seriously and went to the pharmacy and actually counted the bottle of Klonopin and to see if there was any missing and it wasn't. at least that's what they said
If you are well enough to argue like that with a hole in your throat then why not go to your physician instead of er
I took my son to an out patient surgery center for surgery. They tried to charge me 750$ for an out of network deductible. They said since we weren’t at the hospital it was out of network. Only problem was their exact address/business was listed as in network on our Insurance website. I showed them it said in network, had to argue with them and meet with the CEO. I just wonder how many other patients with my insurance they have done that to. They ended up saying I didn’t owe the 750$. They said I would have been reimbursed when the Ins company “found the mistake.” Yeah, I doubt it.
Nurses DO bully patients & so do doctors. After a stroke & having spinal stenosis...spending the night on an uncomfortable mattress....begging all night for some relief....3 of my nurses came in & INSISTED that everything was right & bed was like all the rest.....the morning nurse came in, listened to my complaint & PLUGGED THE AIR MATTRESS IN....inflating the bed to normal support. I was in full spasm at that time.... doctors called it panic attack...🤔 The day got even worse because they refused to hear me. No food for 24 hours + & they gave me all kinds of meds I promptly vomited back up. The nursing assistant quickly LEFT me to get a nurse as I'm hanging desperately onto my IV stand puking my guts out in the tiled bathroom....trying not to fall down. Nurses & doctors AREN'T what they used to be & many don't deserve respect.
nurse took the medicine and sold it
My best friend was in a Catholic Hospital here with kung cancer and her Dr came in to tell us there was nothing else they could do for her (she had drain tube in her side). The hospital nurses came in and told us we had to remove her by 11 that morning or they would put her out. Lucky we found a space in a hospice facility that had room for her. I tell everyone I meet to stay away from that a money hungry hospital.
u must be really sucky person to get rejected by the hospital staff ur forever on they list n they will make sure u know it.
Question everything!!
😳😳😳😳
Well
she has the right to go over her dis charge documents!!
listen you can't have students with the person for asking questions. what it is she got caught .all they needed to do was walk her to records.simple request simple solution. or customer is always correct. your a public servant.
Get over yourself you rude female thing. Nurses have rights too!!! Love nurses!!!
The voice in the background at the end: “Who’s that!?!” 😆👍🏼
Why can't she continue while being recorded?!?! Why should that make a difference
lawsuit
I'm in the medical field. And it sounds like she's in the ER department. If they had treated her during the time of this video she'd know.Plus they would be on her discharge papers. They have more than likely treated her for this problem in the past If she's a pain seeker and not following up with her PC doctor or Specialist that's why they are discharging her. Because she's not following up in order to correct the issue.
The nurses are correct! The law does grant access to medical records, after a request is made and time is allowed to locate information, copy and patient pays for copies, but not immediately! She can now be removed by law officers!
get a lawyer
I'm a retired RN, you can not speak or swallow with a hole in your throat!! This patient has some sorta psychiatric issues going on 💕my profession and hang in there guys 🥰
The patient has the right to see all her medical records, but FIRST she has to call the medical records office and have them prepare copies to give her. Retired RN House Supervisor, and we dealt with this type of demanding patient a LOT.
these nurses don't deserve the abuse that they get from some patients
She has a right to see it
OMG 😲poor nurses
sounds like duke😲😲😲😲😲😲
I get all of my records from the visit how they treated me what test have been ran and what plan for diagnosis before discharge
man leave these tired nurses alone and go to the help desk woman. You're discharged go figure it out.
I think 🤔 they r illegally violating ur rights anymore these nurses r ridiculous sue them
God bless our nurses and what they put up with🙏
It is not a nurse's job to deal with things like this. She needs to talk to administration.

Sorry * demanded to see the chief of medicine!
it happen to me
This is so real. Been there. They amputated my leg and held painkillers from me for eight hours, but I was charged for them, I asked for them. didn’t get them. and I was screaming in pain. It was horrible.
This calls for a higher up to come speak with the client
The nurse has the right to not be addressed as a non human. We don’t know the nurse did not already review this 10 times.
it should be in your discharge papers
I believe the hole in the back of your throat connects to your trachea.
I'm confused, doesn't the discharge paperwork explain what was done? Didn't they tell her how they treated her our doesn't she already know how they treated her condition? don't we all have a hole in the back of our throat?
Should have asked for the chief of ER medicine!
💯 % agreed and ( as we BOTH know as Nurses), it probably is not even finished/hasn't been completely transcribed yet ! As you mentioned:Discharge Summary = Now, let me go on to the next patient who could need my immediate attention 💕
How can you speak loud and proud with a hole in your throat??? I’m confused.
That Nurse is covering up . She did something , you can tell by her attitude . I’m a retired RN. She will fired. And most likely will lose her Nursing License
These people are evil. They all on some power trip.
Try being the patient
