The snow that the plow shoves into your driveway is a lot harder to move than the fresh snow you just shoveled.
WTF...I live in Milwaukee...they do this shit intentionally. Its an every snow occurance...right when they see you finishing, they turn down your street and ...
Yup its extremely frustrating π... The plows keep coming back too.. Almost an excirse in fultily.
don't we all know this is going to happen - kinda ridiculous to bitch at something that has to be done - ya see the snow out in the street- where does everybody its going to end up - take small shovelfuls - slow and slower - get some music going and enjoy π€π- I actually pray and its amazing time flies as does the snow βοΈ π- but then again iam 6ft 160 and fit but no gyms for me -

their timing is impeccable - my snow plow driver and I have been at war for 35 yrs . Every year he reminds me his shovel is bigger than mine , grins , and barrels on -

π€¨π‘ I started shoveling the dam street about width of my driveway..almost 3 feet into the rood up onto the curb so when plows go by...it dont push all that snow in front of my driveway. its staying clear enough I no longer need to go dig my way out of 3 feet of packed snow just to leave my house
I had to do that all the time when I was doing snow removal. no choice
I can remember shoveling up the street to minimize what got pushed into your driveway

Growing up on an Air Force base in North Dakota, I experienced this on many occasions. As an adult, I know opening the streets is important, but as a kid who did a great deal of shoveling, I admit that I developed a strong "expletive" vocabulary.
Yup, thatβs just how it is. No alternative!

I learned a simple solution to that. The snow plow driver of my town was waiting for me to pull out of my driveway first; I knew what he was going to do. So I parked my car at the edge of my driveway, making the snow plow driver turn outwards away from my driveway, to keep the bucket from hitting my car, it worked!

I had a similar situation happen to me! We were having a blizzard and I was shoveling out our long driveway so I could go get some milk. (Itβs my crack!) I was at the end of the driveway skirt and we have a trio of snow plows that go down the major streets during a snowstorm. So I ran up about 6β w/I saw them coming and thought I was OK. Well the force of their plowed snow knocked me off my feet and head first into the piles of snow about 10β in front of me! Until that moment, I had no idea they packed that much punch!! All I could do was laugh at myself and continue to shovel out all of the snow they dumped at the end of our driveway! π²ππ€¦π»

We don't have time to keep snow out of driveways, we have thousands of driveways we plow past. Oh, and don't shovel the snow into the road because we will just push it back into your driveway. And if you do it again you can be fined! And fir you private plowers NEVER ever push snow across a public roadway! That can get you in serious trouble and even a huge fine!

I've plowed for years and it is what it is. If I'm in a truck with articulating blade I'll do my best to scoop through your driveway, but if it's a good storm there's NOTHING these guys can do. Don't get mad, throw your shovel, impede their route, because I've seen it all. We're all in this shit together believe it or not. π―
