I am a ref in Illinois. THAT IS TOTALLY ILLEGAL! That is a technical. so the shooter gets to finish the original throw attempts. then some one gets to shoot the 2 technical throws, & the ball out at the half court line. 💯💯💯💯💯💯

no this is not legal they do call it a free throw for a reason the ball is not in play until it either bounces off of the rim or backboard and not go in or after it goes through the hoop and then the opposing team can take possession of it step out of bounds and then throw the ball inbounds and resume play I know this about basketball and I don't even play the game

This is an edited video - there is a full video floating around YouTube somewhere. The girl on foul line had a 1 & 1. She missed the first shot making the ball live. The pass back to the foul line actually comes from a girl on the black team on the lower block (she’s out of the frame). The girl that steals the ball and the ref on the baseline are the only ones aware that it’s a live ball. After the girl steals the ball, she’s fouled by a girl on the white team who you can barely see in the top left. Ref on baseline follows the play, blows her whistle, and puts her hand up to signal a foul. And yes, the ball is live so the ref on baseline missed a double dribble and travel by girl on free throw line.

It's totally legal if the arena is dark, the refs are paid, the cameras are off, the players are distracted, and the name on your jersey says 'Harlem Globetrotters"...

If she was shooting a 1&1 and missed the 1st shot then its a live ball from the time the 1st free throw touches the rim and doesnt go thru the hoop. So shes not entitled, shes not use to stealing stuff she, unlike alot of people knows what the rules of the game are. They need to show these clips in their entirety and not bits and pieces like they tend to do.
