I had a guy break into my shop twice, so I asked the cop, can I put a bear trap or six on the floor so when he breaks in a third time I'll catch him. He said sure, as long as you don't chain the traps to the floor and he can leave without being confined it's okay by me. Cop said, just make sure you tell the judge you oiled the traps to prevent rust and were going to put them away the next day after the excess oil dripped off.
I dont understand why squatters have more rights to your home than you do ! its not fair or right .you are the one to pay mortgage n keep doing the repairs if needed n along come squatters to sleep n do whatever they want to your home ! gotta go through legal stuff to get them to leave !! nooo way is this right ! we need new laws that protect the homeowners not squatters..its breaking n entering n staying so they should fix the laws . plain n simple..why cant they do this .. its a disgrace n not fair to the homeowners...

Things that home owner should know but no one tells them. Take a picture of yourself (the property owner in front of the house with the address visible and clear? Make sure there's a time stamp and date of the picture? Place "No trespassing," Signs in the windows on the Front lawns? Those evidence will turn your case from Civil courts to criminal courts, while dealing with squatters. The police sees proof that's your property and can arrest the squatters for burglary and trespassing.
Their needs to be a law to protect home owners...

Unfortunately, you could be charged with false imprisonment and possibly reckless endangerment. Ever think about music enrichment ? Perhaps an endless loop of a catchy little toon, such as "Pop Goes the Weasel" (played about 1,000 times, loud, just not so loud as to disturb your neighbors) might be a nice touch. And super bright lights against the window/s at night, just so no one trips and gets hurt. Just sayin'.

Yeah illegal in every country to lock someone in a house and no exit. Can block access to rooms and some areas. Would be illegal detainment, arrest, endangerment and if fire or die of starvation/dehydration manslaughter or even murder premeditated.
I think the home owners should shut off the power and water. (that's if you pay for the utilities) Say you're going out of town for a while. Less expensive to turn them back on than put up with people talking over your house!

I would break into my own home because it’s my home. I can break in there and have a couple of gigantic men come with me and grab these people and throw them out and then change the lock on the door then if they try to break back in, have them arrested for breaking into your home.

Pretty sure that’s illegal but what they gonna do. I had a squatter stay with me. I made life hell for her. She would only leave the room when I went to work. Watched her on camera and talk shit on the intercom periodically. Let her dog out (it came back tho) I took the breaker to the room she was in and the kitchen every day till the bum bounced. Crazy the law on her side.

We have rental property on our farm. One renter we had attempted the squatter thing. Even went so far as to tell me that it would take 6 months to a year to make her move. Between the lawyer, court cost, and lost rent, she explained she cost me a ton of money and I would be better off to leave her alone. I bought a truck load of hogs (35 ) and put them in the fenced yard around the house and waited for her to get home. I explained that they had escaped the barn, and this was the only place I could hold them until they could be moved back to the barn. She was gone in 2 hours.
it was easier to get the mother skunk and 5 babies smell out of the house than the squatters, formerly renters. I think my 7 years has passed since the mother skunks arrival and their same day departure. The skunks were not that happy the renters had an unauthorized dog in the house. As I left the porch I could hear the dogs back change to a growl and then to a pipe with lots of running and crashing. Later that day after they had returned, the door was standing wide open and there were no skunks, no dog, and best yet, no squatters. The skunks charged me nothing and I had no other fees for eviction. They left everything behind and never returned and had no idea I was involved. One of my best wins, they were dangerous folks.

be honest with you man we got some squatters living down the road from us and I'm sick of them dude there's nothing but trouble police all the time dogs attacking people had to shoot one of their dogs in the face the other day cuz it's so aggressive attacked the trash man twice the Delivery Man for my neighbors medicine twice and charged me three times their dog's constantly getting in my trash the other day I came home they had my trash can knocked over eating it so I took it down there and dumped it all over her car
