Um… if that’s persimmon then I sure hope the skin has been removed! Otherwise it’ll turn your mouth inside out! lol! Not literally. My brother made a batch of jelly out of persimmons but didn’t know to peel them first. Nobody wanted any of that jelly, trust me. 🤣

If you bite into a green one it is extremely bitter & you will be puckering. The ripe ones are fine!!!

I live in Texas, and as a kid my grandparents had a persimmon tree and they were plentiful. I ate so many as a kid that this is one fruit I will touch.

My parents always spoke about how delicious persimmons are, but stressed that they MUST be eaten when ripe otherwise they're not edible. I believe the taste is acidic or at least bad and unappealing. I learned something today. I had never even seen one before. I live in Ohio, they enjoyed them while in the UK. They look good. I would try a bite.

Red or green, you do not eat the skin of a persimmon! The skin is very bitter 😖 The fruit has to be peeled before it's eaten. I'm speaking from experience.
