Do people take driving exams any more? 1) The car was at a stop sign. 2) If at a full stop, do not proceed into the intersection, in order to pull to the left 3) Remain at a full stop & allow the emergency vehicle to adjust to the conditions.
So what's the problem?! The cop did what he had to do. No safety issues were at risk.
What a hard ass! Cop that doesn't play by the rules! He's probably the "Riggs" on the force! Loose cannon but a bad ass altogether! Action packed video though from beginning to the end I was on the edge of my toilet seat.......and I made a mess, thanks!
And what exactly is your point ? When responding to a life threatening emergency seconds may mean the difference between life and death. Quit making assumptions concerning an emergency police response when it is obvious you know absolutely nothing what you are talking about. Thank God for Law Enforcement and all First Responders. Prayers for their continual safety as they do an extremely difficult and dangerous job.
I would have done the same thing. What was wrong with what he did?
Although that driver could’ve pulled to the shoulder, he had no idea which way the cop might be going, so he just stopped and allowed the officer to pass if he needed to pass or turn if he needed to turn the driver did a very good job however, I would’ve recommended he pulled over long before on the shoulder and gotten out of the way completely
He kinda did the right thing. Except! He didn’t wait long enough to insure that the traffic had stopped. Professional? I doubt that 1/4 of police officers go through EVO, Emergency Vehicle Operations. I taught defensive driving for cars and motorcycles at Fort Knox, Ky, while in the Army and attended Emergency Vehicle Operations while in the Navy.

All I'm saying knows, when I see lights on, I pull over if I can't pull over, I try to get over as far as possible to make room for the first responder to get through the last thing. I need is to be pushed off into a ditch because they couldn't get through or some idiot. Decided they didn't want to do it as long as he's being safe to the community. He can do pretty much whatever he needs to. If he's on a code run Just get smart and get the hell out of his way.You would never have a problem

Unless you are police, fire or rescue. You have no idea. It was safe or he wouldn't have done it. Slow and go thru a "safe" red light is legal for emergency vehicles. Former trained rescue crew driver!

Police are exempt from all basic traffic laws while responding code. How ever! Common sense and public safety takes priority over any code run.
Absolutely nothing wrong with this you never assume a civilian will do what you expect. Drive cautiously and continue when safe
