Sobriety checkpoints are conducted from 10 PM- 3 AM. If you're out that late, you're probably up to no good. ✔️

Ive never seen a cop ask for a DL & just look at it. They always run it to check if its clear or not. Something about this video is off.

A drivers license indicates where the driver lives: dumb question when she asks where he lives at. Also, it’s none of her business where he’s coming from. Just another fishing expedition cops use to incriminate

Limitations: Police cannot use these checkpoints as a general pretext for illegal searches, and in some jurisdictions, they cannot detain you solely to identify you without reasonable suspicion of a crime.

No reason to be an ass. First of all the officer was doing her job and only trying to verify the information she was given. Second, he will probably be the first one to scream and throw a fit if he needed assistance and thought that he would get fast enough because they were dealing with people like him. Third if Someone got through that checkpoint and hit someone that he cared about he would want to know why the police were supposedly not doing their job. Grow up people.

I’m Tired of reading about drunk drivers killing people pretty much all the time! Now they are stepping it up to help prevent death. It’s a double edged sword when it comes to things like this but if I can say? I’m for this! I’ve known people that have died and some sent to prison cause they didn’t want to spend $40 or so on an Uber. She’s just doing her Job man!

I've been through a dui checkpoint where I had been drinking alcohol that night, I wasn't drunk but had been drinking. The officer had me go through the FST's, and I blew into the PAS, .05 BAC, they told me to have a nice evening and I drove home, 3 years later, I joined the State police.

I, myself, am very grateful that these officers are out there taking drunk drivers off the road. When I was a kid, my dad was a severe alcoholic. He would drive his van around with us kids in the back just sitting or laying on the mattress in the back of the van. I can't tell you how many times we went flying in the air, being slammed down into the hard metal of the wall or the floor of the van. All because he was driving drunk. Oh, how I wish he had been stopped at a DUI checkpoint. I know of alteast 2 accidents where he totaled his vehicles because of driving drunk. 🤢

She did not ask for proof of insurance. They would probably ask you to exit the vehicle for giving them a hard time, claiming suspicion of DUI. Like he said his info is on his license and where he is going is his business. A little courtesy can go a long way.

Being a boss means you don't have to show you melt when dealing w/symbols of authority. Check his rate of speech, volume & content. No disrespect. The cop showed no sign of feeling disrespected, what specifically was your problem w/the guy?

avator

Seems the oop was doing on a fishing trip, she gave no indication he was driving in any way that is sign of being impaired, & her question abt where he lives proves it. Unless he recently moved, his address is on his license & he has every right to be on a public road whereever he was coming from. He wasn't rude, just asserted his position, which he was legally entitled to do.
