i put cat food out every night..for whoever wants or needs it. its always empty in the motn. makes mr h appy! sometimes I see a c at, sometimes a racoon, often the precious possums. love em all!!!
I used to put cat food out for the strays and the little town I lived in mailed me a letter telling me I wasn't allowed to do that anymore and then I think they stole the strays and put them down! Sick world we live in. Two cats afraid of their own shadows who didn't bother anyone makes me sad to this day just thinking about it.

I was caring for a stray cat that showed up on my doorstep. Water and food every day.One night, hubby ran into to he living room and said, "You gotta see this!" Came to the back door and the cat was sharing the food with a possum!😲The cat was moved inside and we discovered we had a Family of possums under our front porch!😲 Had a guy come to set safe traps and moved them to another location. We had at least 10 total.
Looks like a javalina... they're like a small wart hog...a wild pig. Common in the Southeast US. We have coyotes around our suburb. My three rescues are strictly indoor cats! We used to have neighbors who let their cats outside. But I think the coyotes have killed all of them.😲 There are not as many raccoons or opossums around as there used to be, either. That's probably the result of more coyotes. I fifty more they can jump a 6 foot fence and get into a back yard until one went after my neighbor's little tiny white fluff ball dog. The 100 German Shepard from next-door ran the coyote away and SAVED the little dog!!👍🏼🥰
I got taken to court because I fed stray cats. On the stand I told them that they were trampling my 1st Amendment rights. My religion says I must take care of all of God’s creatures. The suit was thrown out of court
Several years ago when I lived in out in the country on a road that went to the river bottom. People were forever throwing out cats and kittens. At one point I had 19 cats on my 4 acres. I would take them to the vet and get them spayed or neutered. I had cats under the house, in the storage shed, in the barn and I always had my inside cat. I had a wonderful vet who worked with me charging me only for the cost of supplies. He has passed since then and I miss him so much. I live in town now and through the years my cats died or a one time coyotes killed several. Two of my cats I still have are rescues then back in July someone tossed out a tiny black female kitty. She is doing great and is to have her surgery at the end of the month. These cats are inside kitty’s as I live on a busy street. My 2 little dogs are inside kitty’s also although they get to go on long walks and stay out on my large porch that is screened in. I love my animals and they got me through my son and husbands death.

I am down to my last dog and cat. My cat is 10, the dog is only 4. I'm 71, in relatively good health. But I can't, in good conscience, take on any more. I don't want to leave any orphans. I'm thinking I may out live the cat, but worry about my dog. I do put out food for neighborhood stray cats, just not at my house. I put out cat food and bird seed where I can discreetly watch them eat. I do keep a water bowl on my patio for my dog, but the cats have found it and come drink too. Thats all I can do. But it gives me great pleasure to know that it helps.
