I had an interview for welding job on the rigs in Wyoming in the early 90s. at the end of the interview he asked if I had any questions, I asked about their safety record, he said they average 1 FATALITY a week. I thanked him and asked he not consider me for the job.

That 30 an hour I work in construction remodeling houses at 25 an hour so I’ll stick to what I do
I remember working in the oil fields. 18 an hr to start is the standard pay to start with no experience and you'll still make 80 to 90 K a yr from over time. not crazy hard work, at least what did wasn't but you work and go home shower straight to bed repeat. im good on 100 hrs a week. that shits crazy

I can honestly say it takes a brut of a man to do this job. I have always been a hard worker but I wouldn't even try this. I feel it is safe to say that 99% of people who see this had no clue what these guys go through on a typical day.
I've done it & I didn't make anywhere near 160k a year. I don't even think the drillers make that much, let alone the floorhands.
