I am an old person now, and I still lock the car while waiting in it for my husband, who's shopping. Glad that I do, because on several occasions at night, potential robbers came up to test the doors while I was sitting there (they probably didn't see me right away).

I travel with my cousin, a 75 year old man. I insist that the doors are locked WHENEVER Cuzzin is in the car. He does puzzle books. TWICE people have walked bt pulling on our door handles while he is in there. Then the perpetrator goes on to other cars in the parking lot, pulling door handles on every car. It's safer to have your car locked, in my opinion. 😲 🚗

I have actually done this. Stopped along the sidewalk to answer my phone. Two guys walked up to my car and stopped at the rear of the car just in my line of sight. Locked my door and stayed on my phone. Several minutes later, a city bus pulls up behind me, and the two guys get on. I was parked right in front of the bus zone. 😆😆😆😆😆
