In situations like this alot of times the men never step up and to they were never in the child life's any way, I think women needs to be more demanding when it's comes to the child, you didn't just make this child by yourself the father needs to be involved and if you don't know who's the father then get a DNA test, but stop short changing the child. I understand you can't force anyone to do anything but the law can make him support that child until the age of 18 years old.

if they don't have proof of certain truthful and verifiable evidence that the child's dad is a total lowlife scumbag and criminal element and a menace to society I believe that the child should live with the living parent I've seen many times when a grandmother Will go to extraordinary lengths to get custody of their grandchild when their own child has died or been icarcerated for a very long sentence and they are often not considering the child but simply holding on to the last part of their own child that lives on in their grandchild when possible I think it's best for the child to atay with the living parent because losing one parent is hard enough for a child to cope with but losing both parents is a very difficult hurdle to cross over without permanent repercussions that continue into the adult relationships and the career odds of success are damaged by their attachment being severed and the feelings of deaertion don't work for their best interest in adulthood
