let's see carriers cost us 10 billion dollars a piece. we've had two sink in the last 25 years. LOL the smaller the better these days. that battleship Trump is trying to get built if you cut that into thirds that's about what we need to be building and a lot faster
The problem with that train of thought is other countries may have one or two carriers, but they possess far more submarines, drones and missiles to take out carriers and they are far cheaper.
All it takes is one hypersonic missile to take one out. That's the whole reason China created them. To take out our ships.
Russia has no functional aircraft carriers. The last time the one that they do have had to be towed back to Port. There is almost no chance that it will ever sail again.
Just imagine those carriers are floating cities they have grocery stores they have stores to buy regular clothes. It’s almost like Walmart only difference is they don’t pay taxes on anything they buy everything is sold to them that wholesale.

Yes the Trump class destroyer is absolutely huge and here is the reason First off they say it’s gonna be powered by diesel. That’s a lie. It’s gonna be nuke and unlike our original nuclear powered aircraft carriers or submarines which had 11 nuclear power plants were our modern ones only have two the Trump class destroyer will probably have three? If not for, but it will definitely have two.! these destroyers will not rely on missiles or bombs or machine guns or rail guns they are gonna be fortified with laser weapons for anything on the surface or in the air. They will also have capacities that allow them to fire torpedoes like a submarine as well as missile when needed, but their primary and offense and defense will be laser which requires tremendous amounts of energy!
