💯% I was there... When I first went over I honestly believed I was being sent to Vietnam because we were making a difference..... How Nieve I was , it didn't take me very long to figure out that we were fighting a loosing war.... Not only was I sent to a place were I watched all of my buddies die , but I had to come home to an ungrateful nation where when I among others got off the plane we were spit on and called baby Kil*er's.... You see the Vietnam war ( no matter how FAKE the news was ) came across all television's in every home in the United states, we were not ( " given an UPDATE " ) on all the protesters back home.... Anyhow that's my rant for the day , Carry on.....
Shame on the people who spit on and hit and called these soldiers names they were drafted to go over their and the ones that volunteered to go, they thought that it was the right thing to do with the right time. I was six years old when the Vietnam war ended and I remember my father coming home later on in his years, he would tell me the story about him getting off the plane and people spitting at him, throwing things at him and calling him all kinds of names later on my wife, when I graduate high school, I joined the military, and when I was sent to Afghanistan, the thought crossed my mind about what my father went through when he came home from Vietnam
