I'm surprised these geniuses haven't figured out to carry the water in a large container with a lid, and the rubber container he's holding separately. That thing is unnecessarily difficult to carry, and can spill. There are many, many 5 gallon containers with handles, that would make more logical sense.v😆
For those of you who are unfamiliar with this type of container, it was designed to allow a horse to drink directly from it as opposed to trying to pour water from an enclosed container into the animal's mouth.

Sometimes, I feel as though I'm the stupid one. Carrying the water like that was probably the easiest and most polite way of getting water to the horses out in the crowds of people. You wouldn't want water splashing all over your uniform and possibly bystanders as you carry it out. A big container with a cover could be cumbersome and too heavy to carry, something with wheels could actually take more energy to navigate alone through multiple doors, gates, hallways, etc. Who knows how far away a faucet is in a building built hundreds of years before running water was a thing? I have a basket like that and they are awesome for carrying water without tiring yourself out. Sometimes, the "easier" way to do something takes much more energy than if you were just to suck it up and get it done.
