the idea of 2 sexes is overly simplified. There are people who have the funcional sexual organs of a female but who possess Y chromosomes that would indicate they are males. While exceedingly rare, true hermaphrodites do occur in humans and typically have female anatomy. What sex are they? Are you defining sex based on anatomy? chromosomes? outward appearance? Our understanding of the body continues to grow, and with that new knowledge, we recognize the fault in our prior assumptions.

It’s scientifically proven!! In fact there are things called chromosomes that each person is born with. So if you have XX chromosomes It’s a girl!! 👧 If you have XY chromosomes It’s a boy!! 👦 There is the extreme rare occasion that a fetus is what they call a hermaphrodite which means the baby has 46 chromosomes, typically two XX chromosomes and ovaries, yet displays external male genitalia due to exposure to excess male hormones in utero. However this is extremely uncommon. Hope this helps, it’s really not that complicated at all. ☺️
