What is so strange about having an honest gentleman returning the residents wallet. How sad that in this day and age this is considered STRANGE!
Many years ago, a friend went with me to a bigger city, Columbus, Ohio, 2 hours away. His wallet fell out of his pocket on apparently on sidewalk. The person found it, mailed it with cash in wallet to my friend,using the address on his driver’s license. My friend was very lucky that honestly person mailed it to him and didn’t use my friend’s credit card.
I found a wallet in a grocery shopping cart at Shop Rite in Edison, New Jersey, last year. I took it to customer service and told her I found it in the shopping cart in the parking lot. She looked at me like I was insane.
In olden days we would have put it in the milk box. For those of you of a certain range there used to be home delivery of milk and some dairy products and they were left in an insulated metal box on your front porch steps.
If the homeowner really was not home, then OK. But if he was home and the good Samaritan knew it, I would’ve walked away with it.

That's the kind of neighbors that I have. We bring each other's pets home when they escape, they're always there if you are in the middle of making cookies and need a cup of sugar, will give a ride to pick up your car at the mechanic's shop. We are aware of each others health problems in case of emergency. My neighbors are the greatest! I'm very blessed to have lived here over 40 years 💕💕

I found a woman purse out in food city in Phoenix Arizona (where I am from) and I returned it to the store manager,I say about two weeks later,I got a phone call ,the lady wanted to give me $20 but I refuse and we blessed each other,that was maybe 6years ago

I once found one that had fallen out of a man's jacket pocket while he was placing his cans in a recycling bin at a shelter u volunteer for. he gave 20 as a reward, which i split with the employee at the recycling center who helped me pull it from the crusher hopper.

I left my wallet in a pushing cart in a frys parking lot late at night. As soon S I got home and realized what I had done,I rushed back to the store. my push cart was were I left it and also my wallet. I was very lucky. Working years later at Walmart , I kelpt finding not wallets but phones. They lay phone down and forget were they layed it.

I left my checkbook on the counter at a convenience store while out of state. They mailed it back to me. Years later I found someone’s driver license, so I left it in their mailbox. Just a little karma payback.
My wife found a man wallet in Macy’s years ago with 600 dollars cash in it! She gave the Wallet to the cashier so it would be turned over to security! It was probably that person’s Christmas Money for buying gifts!🙏🏼
