I am a white woman with extremely curly hair. I use "black" hair products. People will "fluff/bounce" my curls all the time. NOT COOL! It doesn't matter the race. You don't touch other people's hair unless you are a loved one. Strangers should not touch other people's hair. You think you're being polite by asking permission, but the question itself is rude.

I asked what are you trying to do. she said it was alright cause she asked his mom and she said it was okay. I said really you know her. she proceeded to say she babysat her when she was young. I Never met this woman before. I proceed to tell her well you're not touching any part of him. And I don't know you. So keep away from my son. She said YOUR SON, he's not your complexion and doesn't look like you. By this time I had my son in my arms as she tried again to touch him. My brother saw us and I gave him my son while saying She wants me to show her why she needs to leave him alone. she said oh he looks like your husband ( my brother). my brother answered Nooo she's my sister. we both have the same mom & dad. and get away before we call the Cops.

I had a black girlfriend for 3 years (I'm white) and I never once touched her hair. I never asked about doing so. I understand that their hair is sacred to them.
