Even when my daughter was 2 years old she stood up in the shopping cart and told the cashier, I ate a banana and we have the peel to show you. Cashier said thank you. I'm a diabetic and there have been a few times I was in line up by the register and knew I had to eat something quick, as I started getting weak, sweating and thirsty so I'd grab something there by the checkout area and start eating it, or I had grabbed something as I was in line... but, I would let the cashier know what was happening and hand the candy wrapper, or whatever I was eating, to her first and make sure she knew why I had or was eating it and have her add it to my bill first. There's a difference in honesty and dishonesty. 👍

I know when my sugar is low…I was in a checkout specifically to grab a candy bar so I would have a RECEIPT. I felt sick in a store once & a kind salesperson ran to her office to bring me something & made me sit down. I’ll never forget her.🌸🙏🏼

How do we know it was not a snack she had in her purse? I carry small snacks in mine all the time Saves money when I am out and about to not shop when I'm hungry. 🤔 If someone asked me if I paid for the snack from my purse... I would reply the same. I went to the grocery store around 7pm one night and I was so hungry and I got a gluten free cereal bar and I ate it .I had not eaten all day ,plus I have to wait 2 hours after I take my meds then take my thyroid pill but I put my wrapper that I ate and told the cashier I ate the cereal bar and charge me and she did.

I’ve started to or finish a drink/beverage, but everyone knows security is watching everyone from the control room. I always run the empty can/bottle, when at the self checkout, or regular check out.

I get a soda almost every time I go to home depot and drink it while shopping. I pay for it as I leave. They have them at the entrance before you get to check out..and it was a customer service person who suggested I get it and drink it in the store and pay for it later.
