I was gonna say, maybe he was a good man at that time. But what I know of him now, I doubt he was ever a good man. Out of all of them in the photo, he is perhaps the most disingenuous of them all by far. I believe that you can ascertain a lot of a person based on their character, and from what I know of him now, he is of poor character. Doing a nice thing doesn’t, or shouldn’t buy you a pass that erases the wrong that you have done or are doing. Maybe he’s not recognized because he’s really a disgusting person who really doesn’t deserve the honor. Is there such a thing as bought honor and earned honor?

He was 1 of 86 people who received a medal in 1986 the first year it was given out. He received it for his contributions of development projects in NY. This was an assembly of different, unrelated recipients getting ready for Ellis Island Award photos. Trump received it for business and real-estate as a person of German migrant background. Unlike some of the other recipients, his award had nothing to do with social justice. This is easy to research.
