Philadelphia City Hall: The most iconic building in Center City, it is a magnificent example of Second Empire architecture, not a true castle.

What is your problem? , buildings all over the world are built in this style. Get out of Philly and travel. Expand your knowledge. Should city hall be an old wooden row house? That building will be there hundreds of years from now. 😲 Beautiful

Ok to summon all that up! According to Philly no those are not castles, they are simply built to look like them.

The city's core features a variety of architectural styles, including Classical, Neoclassical, and Gothic Revival, seen in its most famous structures like City Hall, which has a distinct Second Empire style with ornate detailing. The illusion of castles may come from certain architectural features on some buildings that borrow from medieval or castle-like designs, but these structures were built for municipal or commercial use, not as medieval fortifications.
