as a massive doll collector.. which most are haunted.. if you put the downy beads in a spray bottle.. put warm water in to melt beads.. spray dolls hair.. it combs put easily and leaves it soft and smelling pretty
the doll hair is actually in worse condition after the "boil wash" than it was before. Before it just needed a brush. most of the strands were in wonderful condition. afterwards many of the strands were fried and crispy looking.
I will never get the moments of my life I just wasted back…

fabric softener works the absolutely best. it also keeps the hair from fraying at the end. I do this to all the dolls I get at yard sales and thrift shops.

Remember, doll hair is nylon. If the water gets too hot, the hair Will melt. Personally, I use a drop of Dawn dish soap and hot tap water. Then, I use liquid fabric softener diluted with 50% water as a conditioner / detangler. Been doing that since I was 8, and I am 53 now.
I can't get the time Ive wasted on this back. Regret sucks.

Better yet, use products made for synthetic hair wigs. It makes a difference. No boiling necessary. Please cut that lone strand of hair. My ocd is killing me.
I do hair for 40 years. When my daughter was young she snuck out perm solution and tried to perm her barbies hair. Well it melted 😆
