My Doberman Pincher and I got attacked walking at night by ballpark near me this summer. It was near a wooded area it was dark. I thought I saw something move in the dark and kept walking. Then I turned around and the Coyote was two feet behind me. I yelled as loud as I could and my dog didn鈥檛 see the Coyote. It thought I was yelling at her. After several attempts of the Coyote running up on us I walked backwards for three blocks until I was safe. You turn your back on it for a second and it came out of nowhere trying to get us or my dog.

Call 911? Sorry, if my dog is beiing attacked by a coyote, I'm not going to wait for help, I'm going to save my pet. 馃憤

That's not first time, coyote, bear, crocodile, even dogs are part of these aggressive animals. Why can't anyone hesitant to shoot before anyone gets hurt? I am not fan of animal rights. I'm a very defensive individual. When I see danger lurking, I put on gear myself right away and send warning to households.

I mean at the end of the day the coyote is just doing what coyotes do..they鈥檙e hungry..they鈥檙e food sources are being run off cause people keep taking over their space so they have to follow the food source. I see coyotes every night in my neighborhood. I respect them and I鈥檓 also a responsible pet owner. They鈥檙e really not doing anything wrong..it鈥檚 really sad. If it鈥檚 positive for rabies then just put the poor thing out of its misery. People need to stop blaming the wild animals. Learn to coexist..you really don鈥檛 have a choice.

The second Amendment works, too. You don't have to shoot the animal, but gunshots should scare it off.
That's not normal behavior. I live in an area with lots of coyotes and have run into them away from my farm too ( While horseback riding ,with my dogs) and we've never had a single problem. I can see and hear them all around us ,we've even ran into them when they have a den full of pups and they warn us ,follow us even but that's the extent of it. This is over a 28yr period. We had free range chickens, ducks,goats and cats ,they never bothered them.I'm not being naive,I do know they can and will snatch a pet but this aggression is not the norm IMO.馃馃槳
I felt the same thing that there's got to be a reason why it's acting that way. I believe wolves do something like that also they only attack when they're babies are being threatened or some kind of disease and go crazy. and I believe people are building their homes and businesses to close the where the wild animals have lived for hundreds of years馃挄
There's usually only a couple of reasons for a coyote acting that way. Rabies and being fed and habituated by people are the main 2 reasons for that behavior.

Looks like the coyote was trapped in the back fenced in yard. I think they probably surprised each other.
Hope the housekeeper will be okay. Unfortunately, she will have to undergo treatment for rabies since the coyote couldn鈥檛 be found.

馃槅 He doesnt believe in calling 911. You could see it in his face. You have to make coyotes afraid of humans . This means hunting them down . Cause they get hungry and will attack people in packs or by themselves .

We drive wildlife out of their habitats with developments. Where the hell fo we want wildlife to go? The attack was sad as no hoyshold pets and their owners should have to deal with such things.

this is very unusual. a whole pack tried to attack my chow, I really didn't think, I grabbed her while screaming at them. they didn't move, they would have got her if I didn't freak them out
