Four nearly surefire tips on how to recognize a 'dead' church (and by dead, I mean a church where the Holy Spirit is not likely present): 1. If the pastor's message is not based on and supported by the Bible's scripture. 2. If the pastor's name is on a sign in front of the building. 3. If the pastor makes himself the central character in tithe collections or utilizes public pressure to shake down the congregation. 4. If the pastor suggests, or worse yet, outright states that your good works have anything to do with you somehow earning your own salvation (wouldn't it mean that Jesus Christ died in vain if there were some thing or things we could do or say to earn our way into heaven?). IOW, pastoral leadership matters. Pray for your pastors and their families. 🙏

Moses was promised that he would get to see the promised land from a distance because he took pride in himself and instead of telling his people that he was instructed to strike the rock with the staff he told them he had made water flow from the rock, so in the same manner this pastor shall see only what was promised but not privileged to go there if he takes pride in himself. The woman is beyond reasonable doubt correct for giving her portion.
