I think that is a cortisone shot for hip pain. They don’t hurt that bad because I have had them in my spine before and they numb the spot first before the injection. I have also had an ablation in my spine to burn the nerves to get longer relief from severe back pain. They are very uncomfortable but not that painful. The relief afterwards is worth the few minutes it takes to be uncomfortable. I also suffer from migraines and have been all my life. My neurologist suggested Botox injections. At first I was skeptical because I would have to have 36 injections in my head. My doc convinced me to try it. After the initial treatment it wasn’t very fun but he was very pleasant and considerate. The shots were pretty unpleasant but the results were remarkable. Afterwords no headaches for 3 months that’s when the next injections were due. I have been very satisfied with my doctor and the results of the treatment.

I tend to get Charley horses and sciatic nerve pain together. It is so painful that my heart tried to ...well, you get the picture. By the time I see the doctor, it is over. I'm not sure the doctor believes me. At this point I am setting aside what money I can so my daughters won't have to worry about my burial. The pain is brutal.

If you get those shots in your spine you get two choices. it can be numbed and you either sit in the office for several hours until the numbness wears off or you have to have someone to drive you home. The other option is to not have it numbed and then you walk out the door in just a few minutes. The non numbed shots I had 3 times. believe me most people would scream like she did.I didn't scream but I damn sure said ouch!!!

Maybe they are going to try to suck out some of that privilege and transplant it into someone else.
