Now I know what to do with all of these cans I have laying around. Now, all I have to do is get a bunch of candles, make some shitty lanterns, and then form a search party this evening to go out and find somebody who gives a damn.

for those who are saying wouldn't a flashlight be easier. I believe this is for when your batteries run out or your solar isn't charged. stop always thinking technology will save you. when you have a power outage don't you light candles if you can't find a portable charger? what is you're out hiking/ camping and get lost. Survival skills are getting lost

Expecting a power outage?
You can fill the can with water and freeze it. Then poke holes with a nail where your circle needs to be. Just make a lot of little holes. Then let ice melt and pop the piece out. This is how most make those cans with scenes on them that you line your walkway at holidays and put votive candle in it. You might need wire cutters to cut between nail holes.
