Being everyone is confused I feel the need to explain. Using and auger in hard packed dirt is the same as drilling through thick metal. If you don’t press down on the drill it will not cut the metal. A tractor’s 3 point hitch does not push down. Gravity is the only force that’s brings the auger down. If the ground is hard the auger will not cut into the ground unless some weight or force is put downward. I hope that helps everyone understand the kid isn’t an idiot he’s just weight.

If people really saw the danger of what these guys are doing. Two different people at separate locations died terribly. One man was using an auger similar to the one shown and the other was grinding feed for cattle. One of the most dangers on any attachment that hooks up to a tractor is the PTO (Power Take Off). The man grinding feed, his clothing got caught in the PTO. The authorities and probably the help of a farmer had to unhook the PTO from both ends to slide the tangled up remains off. That kid looks scared to death. This is a really dumb thing to do.
Tractor wouldn't shake so much if the kid would stop shaking it.
I'd be a little more aware of the PTO shaft.
I used to plowed the garden and snow with my dad's big tractor on the age of 6. and also, stand weight on the plow all the time. it worked tho.

All they needed to do was have a guy driving the tractor sit up on top of the auger problem solved.

fill hole with water give it 5 minutes and drill away it is amazing how fast that works.

This is a Farm boy in a Third World country! This is similar to how I grew up 40 years ago on a farm!!. He is standing on the stabilizer bar because the auger motor is shaking the back end of the tractor and he’s trying to brace the back end. To add Wate to it in order to get through the hard ground. Since that ground is under a barn or canopy, That ground is very hard because it has no moisture. It is like drilling through rock. I grew up poor, but I had a father that taught us 6 boys discipline and work at a very early age. I retired at the age of 50 very very financially secure.
