A lot of you are upset with the video — but this is exactly what happens when police officers don’t wear body cameras. The lack of body cameras enables impunity and abuse of authority. Neither officer was wearing a body camera, so it would’ve been their word against the citizen’s if the citizen didn’t have their own recording. It actually took another police officer to tell Officer 29 to stop his aggressive behavior. No tickets were issued, and no one was arrested — just power-tripping police officers, undercover, making a ridiculous traffic stop. These Tarrytown police officers didn’t care that the citizen had been robbed by MTA State Police TBTA Officers Edward J. Elsis and Sergeant Orlando Caholo. Instead, they were focused on a bogus traffic stop that led to no arrest or citation. Their intent was to intimidate the citizen for his blogging and for the lawsuit filed against Officer Jackson of the Yonkers Police Department. They also likely disliked that a lawsuit was filed against the City of Yonkers for malicious prosecution. This is how automatic license plate readers get people jammed up — they track you and try to make it look like every stop is legitimate.
