I did bad things with the Brass watching and laughing, at first. Tossing percussion grenades for graded battle exercises on my fist ship. Tye grenades were ro simulate enemy hits to the ship. I threw the first out pretty good, but the guys below were going nuts about the bang. I smiled at the bridge and it was returned for the second and cut to half the distance. Everyone topside was laughing until I dropped the third about 10' from the side, blowing the engines and generators off the line. That was around 1980 and they were still giving me shit at the reunion about 4 years ago. I had two COs with shaking heads that had to pin a good conduct medal on me.
