when my dad was in an assisted living home, his money was constantly stolen. I would leave him enough to buy a little snack or if they took them somewhere he would have a few dollars to purchase something. they also stole his watch, wallet And wedding ring? I had asked him if he wanted me to take those things home and he said no, he was still a human being. funny how the people taking care of them didn't treat these elderly like they were human. however, the residents were no better, they were constantly stealing his clothes, belt, socks, shoes, I changed homes for him two different times and the third time he ended up with a broken hip because a nurse neglected to help him out of the bed and he fell. 4 months later he was dead. he was a veteran and I did not know that there was a veterans hospital that had good ratings and he would have been welcomed there. so before sending your loved one to a nursing home, check to see if there's a good one with good ratings.

there should be a law that will give anyone that the law convicted and is sentenced for money fraud and harm to children and the elderly be made to have a time limit to start paying back the money and if they default put them in jail for a time and give them another chance to comply if they do again just put them in prison until they can get someone to get them out with atleast double the payment they missed and plus any money owed for the courts that would atleast stop them from doing the same crime or not getting a job to stay out but that's just a thought....there are so many Casses where people were deliberately scammed and they got convicted and the sentence was never made good so the ones that lost was out but the ones that did it just kept moving on with there loot there has got to be a more effective way to combat this !
