when my dad was in an assisted living home, his money was constantly stolen. I would leave him enough to buy a little snack or if they took them somewhere he would have a few dollars to purchase something. they also stole his watch, wallet And wedding ring? I had asked him if he wanted me to take those things home and he said no, he was still a human being. funny how the people taking care of them didn't treat these elderly like they were human. however, the residents were no better, they were constantly stealing his clothes, belt, socks, shoes, I changed homes for him two different times and the third time he ended up with a broken hip because a nurse neglected to help him out of the bed and he fell. 4 months later he was dead. he was a veteran and I did not know that there was a veterans hospital that had good ratings and he would have been welcomed there. so before sending your loved one to a nursing home, check to see if there's a good one with good ratings.
