I grew up with are rifles in the gun racks behind our heads in our trucks , ammunition in the glove box… we were trusted because we had respect of being responsible
My high school 30 years ago had locks on the inside of all of the classrooms, except for the mentally challenged classrooms. They had an intercom code and flashing lights at the hallway ceilings…if there was a weapon threat, they activated the alerts…and the school resource officer went straight to the handicapped classrooms. Our sheriff department was also literally less than 2 miles down the road, so they could be there in literally 2 minutes. I’m certain about this because they practiced that a couple times a year.

Was he going to, " Shoot up " the school, or felt it necessary to carry it to protect himself from Bullies ? No one can argue that it shouldn't ever happen ! But it should never have been allowed to get to this point ! Too many times, complaints fall on deaf School officials ears ! DO BETTER, BE BETTER ! Just Say'n !
