we had one of those. it had a diagonal crease that produced two triangular halves. my sister "appropriated" it from my parent's house at some point.

I use my sandwich maker just like that one every time I have a bonfire my granddaughter loves to make sandwiches on it. Grilled cheese too just like you did.
